Senior Archaeologist/Project Manager

Location: Pitt Meadows, BC

Katzie Development Limited Partnership, located in Pitt Meadows, BC, seeks an experienced consulting archaeologist for a full time Senior Archaeologist / Project Manager position. Most work will take place in the Fraser Valley.

KDLP Archaeology is the archaeological group of the Katzie Development Limited Partnership - a Katzie First Nation owned and operated heritage and environmental services company. KDLP Archaeology provides a dynamic and flexible work environment. We are seeking individuals who are interested in being actively involved in the growth and development of the company.

Applicants must have a Bachelor or graduate degree in archaeology or anthropology, and a minimum of 8 years of archaeological consulting experience. In addition, applicants must have current permit-holding status in the Northwest Coast area, and must be familiar with the rules and regulations governing archaeology in British Columbia. Candidates should also have proven project management experience and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities include proposal writing, project management, field work, report writing, interacting with clients and government personnel, working with First Nations, and supervising/mentoring staff. Candidates must be willing to participate in both office and field work.

Applicants must be physically fit and hold a valid Driver's License.

Salary will be commensurate with education, skills and experience.

Intermediate Archaeologist

Location: Pitt Meadows, BC

Katzie Development Limited Partnership, located in Pitt Meadows, BC, seeks an experienced consulting archaeologist for a full time Intermediate Archaeologist position. Most work will take place in the Fraser Valley and some overnight travel is required.

KDLP Archaeology is the archaeological group of the Katzie Development Limited Partnership - a Katzie First Nation owned and operated heritage and environmental services company. KDLP Archaeology provides a dynamic and flexible work environment. We are seeking individuals who are interested in being actively involved in the growth and development of the company.

Applicants must have a Bachelors or graduate degree in archaeology or anthropology, and a minimum of 3 years of archaeological consulting experience. In addition, applicants must be familiar with the rules and regulations governing archaeology in British Columbia. Candidates should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be capable of working in a quality deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision, and be comfortable working in the field for long hours. Applicants should also have familiarity with working in and around active construction sites.

Responsibilities include project management, field work, report writing, interacting with clients and government personnel, working with First Nations, and supervising/mentoring staff. Candidates must be willing to participate in both office and field work. Qualifications; Candidates must have Field Director status or demonstrate that they are closely approaching Field Director status.
